The CAPILLARYS is a fully automated system that allows continuous throughput of samples. From 75 to 85 samples can be processed through the system in an hour. The samples are actually placed into a direct primary tube that can be barcoded. The primary CAPILLARYS rack can hold up to eight primary tubes.

The CAPILLARYS™ 2 utilizes liquid flow electrophoresis for applications in the clinical diagnostic setting. Through continuous sample feeding and the use of eight very narrow capillary tubes functioning concurrently, a throughput of 90 serum protein results per hour is realized via capillary electrophoresis technology. Direct protein detection is achieved by a measurement at 200nm, eliminating the need for staining while improving accuracy and linearity. A patented, protected capillary horseshoe design provides for:
-Tight temperature control during sample migration, generating consistent reproducible results from analysis-to-analysis and from capillary-to-capillary.
-Extended capillary life of greater than 10,000 samples per capillary - or greater than 80,000 samples per test system.
